  1. basically, replace x with z-1 in the first equation:

    g(x)=3-x

    g(z-1)=3-(z-1)

    g(z-1)=3-z+1


  2. g(x) = 3-x

    g(z-1) = 3(-(z-1)) = 3(-z+1) =3-z+1
