i browsed other other company & all of them offer $2500-3500/mo.for a massage therapist on board. is this true? isn't it the 100/mo from hardings quite small? i thought wages from a cruise ship is a significant amount. im surprised with what ive learned about hardings' salary

  1. I have heard wages on all ships are low and that employees work about 70-80hrs each week but that tips from passengers make it worthwhile.

  2. Steiner supplies my company with massage therapists and $3000 will at the top end of their earnings but it is certainly not the salary they are given. 'Steiners' earn about 6-7% comission (yep, works about $7 an hour worked or less). The largest percentage of their earnings come from tips but especially 'pushing product' - yep, in the case of steiners at least, they are more concerned with you selling as much of their product (mostly elemis) as possible rather than your skills as a therapist. From what the gilrs i have spoken to, this seems to be pretty standard on cruise ships

Therefore, id say hardings are just being honest and telling you what they actually pay you - the rest is up to you, whereas the other companies insinuate they pay you 2500-3500 as a salary...check out their wording very carefully - youll probably EARN that...but they wont PAY that ;)
