  1. Dish is soo 80's

  2. a lil' ducttape will keep it in p[lace =)

  3. To aim your dish, you'll need to know your azimuth and elevation coordinates. Azimuth relates to the left-to-right positioning of your dish. Elevation concerns the up-and-down positioning of your dish. Your DIRECTV Receiver is programmed to give you these coordinates and help point your dish. You'll find this in the on-screen Setup Menu, but because menus vary from system to system, check your owner's manual.

  4. Before you do anything, go to the menu button on your remote and run through the set up menu.  I don't have direct, I have dish.  But you can try to re-lock onto the satellite.  There's also a place to check other things.  Then, you can also determine what Azimuth (sp) etc., your dish has to be set to.  I think you need a compass or some such other device to determine the angle your dish has to be set at to catch the satellite.  If you call the 800 number of direct, the tech people there should be able to run you through all the troubleshooting.  You manual can help, too.  I think I had to pay $45 and hour and maybe a trip charge for dish to come out and work on mine.  But I wasn't really into falling off the roof or ladder.

  5. call the people                or move it around till you get the right signal       i had 2 move mine towards the north west           it depends on where you are

  6. I had dish tv for about 2 weeks, and in all that time it worked for maybe 2 days. The tech people came out 3 different times.

I couldn't take it any more, and went back to cable.

If you want to re set you'll have to call the company and they'll walk you through it

P.S. About 3 months after I had the dish disconnected, I came home and found the dish ( they left it on the roof?) hanging on my outside wall off from the roof, that's when I noticed that the installer only used screws that were like a 1/2" long. That probably wasn't even long enough to go through the shingles. With those screws being so short, the dish wasn't anchored properly....and that's most likely why I kept losing my signal.

  7. Call directv and ask them to send a tech out to re-aim the antennae. The signal takes some specialized equipment to locate.

  8. you might have to call direct tv, but with mine, I had to hold the power button on the receiver for like 20 seconds or un-plug it from the wall then plug it back in to reset.

After that it was "searching for satellite signal" for 5 minutes or so... then back to normal
