definitly. i street dance, always have routines apart from freestyles.

whoever told you street dance is completely freestyle is wrong , sorry.

street dance can be free style , it can be routine based.

its a fusion of funk,hip hop , breaking , popping , locking , krumping.....

theres alot of emotion... and sweat :)

hip hop ... is basically street dance but i guess its more of the ' funk' genre.... but i personally would classify it as the same as street dance.

I would think that you can make up any dance that will keep you happy, after all there are a lot of new styles of dancing coming out all the time and u never know it could be you that invents the next new craze!!!

i suppose not but i know people that do streetdance and they have routines for it

If you do a street routine, then you can have everyone do the same movements and then leave counts unplanned for people to add freestyles so you get the put-together feel and the spur-of-the-moment feel. The thing about freestyle for anytypes of dance is that you use what you learned from cheoreography and build ont it. Plus you have to practice to make sure that what you want to do is possible, freestyle isnt as unplanned as it seems when you think about it. Freestyle and cheoreography both can be hard because for freestyle you may not know what to do next and cheoreography you usually do it with other people so if anyone isnt in sync or isnt the same, it doesnt look as good. freestyle allows for different dancing styles to come across and work well. You could just decide the basics of what you are going to do, and then leave it up to everyone to decide how they want to change it to look different and be their own person.
