If homosexuality wasn't a sin, would Christians be more accepting?

Hello just wondering if the sins spoken in the bible about homosexuality are the only reason Christians don't like them. Lets say there was no reference to g**s in the bible, would a Christian be more likely to accept the lifestyle.

  1. Homosexuality isn't a sin, and no they would still be jackholes.

EDIT: Only SOME versions of the bible say that. And if you really wanted to, you could find contradictions and subclauses that discount each badly translated reference. Christ never mentioned g**s, and even accepted the ones he met, aparently it wasn't a big deal to him.

  2. Jesus taught that the prophecies and law "must be fulfilled".  Isaiah 62:5 speaks of an anointed one that "shall marry his sons".   Jesus said we are "clean" by the word spoken to us, John 15:3.

What sin we forgive is forgiven, and what sin we retain is retained, John 20:23.

Now, if the prophetic word from Isaiah 62:5 says of the anointed, "He shall marry his sons", is same-s*x marriage not cleansed by the word and holy?  Did Jesus tell Peter in the vision, "Do not call common what I have cleansed", Acts 10:15?

  3. g*y people are wanting to be in public as hiding means you are ashamed and stuff which no-one should be

"homosexual" was coined in 1869 so it can't be a sin and the two links show some of the biblical mistranslations

some christians may be more accepting but there's still be some idiots about

  4. The Bible does talk about homosexuality as a sin, but my question is why is it so focused on? For example the % of a married man committing adultery is higher then one being g*y. so why aren't we focusing on adultery? Certain Christians have a tendency to pick sins, as in one is less then another. Here's what they forget: if you take it in the context of the Bible, it says that ALL sins are equal, at the end every single one of us will be judged.

  5. Yes. Cultures uncontaminated by Christianity have shown much greater tolerance towards g**s.

If there was no condemnation of homosexuality in Christian doctrine (one could argue that the Bible itself does not condemn homosexuality through historical references, non-literalist interpretation, etc.) then g**s would not be persecuted in the West in fact the very concept of being g*y would probably not exist as the ancient concept of sexuality as fluidic would still prevail.

Any animosity towards g**s from the irreligious is due to social programming inspired by a Biblical worldview.

  6. There's no "lifestyle" that's in question.  This is generally about one trick ponies, people that isolate the entirety of their lives based on sexual preference publically.

If they were a bit smarter and didn't want the opposition, they would continue their sin in the privacy of their own lives.

Most of the rest of us don't want this in our public lives.

  7. There's no way it wouldn't be a sin sorry but it's the truth, doesnt mean christians shouldn't be loving towards them.

  8. Yes
