If the Earth could reproduce, via human beings, would that bolster the likelihood of its being a living organism?

  2. Yes, I guess you could consider it that. It kind of fits the Gaia hypothesis, and am am rather partial to the gaia hypothesis.

  3. I think it would be more of the people of Earth expanding their habitat. But, if we go from your idea, human beings are viruses, and the planet is a single cell.
