    Eastern South Dakota is in the Central Time zone.  You turn back your clock one hour when you go to the western part of the state, entering the Mountain Time zone.

    North of the state capital, Pierre, the Missouri River and Lake Oahe is the line.  Below Pierre, however, the line runs southwestward to near Murdo, so you'd turn your watch backward as you pass Exit 192 on I-90.

    South of Murdo, the time-change line runs southward between Winner and Okreek to the Nebraska border.
