If i'm not on the insurance policy.....?

BUT have verbal or written permission to drive a car (from the owner etc) and have an accident will the insurance still cover it since i had permission from the owner/ policyholder

  1. To the best of my knowledge,  insurance companies cover the driver of the car when the driver has permission to drive the car from the owner and registered insured.

    To be sure, have the owner read the policy and confirm this.

  3. in most cases, yes.  most insurance companies have a clause that says they will cover any licensed driver who drives the car with permission.

    however, some of them only allow licensed drivers over the age of 25.

    others don't cover others at all (very very few companies do it this way)

    have your friend all and ask, or have him look at his policy if he can understand the legal jargon.
