If i'm somehow related to a former king..?

Ok, so I'm somehow related to Louis the 16th,and I know he was taking out of power, what would this make my family??? Oh, and my friends Scottish Grandmother is somehow related to Queen Elizabeth, what would that make her??

  1. It makes you connected to a royal family of the past. You must be in direct line of succession to inherit any titles.You would already know the answer to your question if you were in direct line of succession and could bear a title.

    The same thing can be said about your friend;unless a family is in direct line of succession to a title,all that can be claimed is a relationship-link.

  3. If they could trace their family trees back 4 or 500 years millions of people would discover that they are somehow related to some king or queen. It might be interesting to find out but, it won't buy them a cup of coffee at the lunch counter.

  4. First of all you could not be related to Louis XVI as he and Marie Antoinette had 2 sons who died young and a daughter that was childless. And secondly he had no royal mistresses putting any ancestral claims are unfounded. And if your grandmother is related to Queen Elizabeth it could either be through marraige or by from some distant ancestor. It does not however guarantee royal blood because it would have been from a b*****d stock as a legitimate child is always acknowledged and treated as a royal.

    That's my take.
