  1. if you did not cut yourself open with the razor you are fine.

hcv is only infectious IN blood and can only transmit if the infectious blood entered your bloodstream.

now, we suggest that everyone be tested regardless of risk factors or not because many do not know they are already infected through other risks- even situations you were unaware of.

so really you should ask to be tested now to rule out previous exposure, ie, has your boyfriend been tested? how do you know he doesn't have hcv infection....? (hcv can be passed on to her child during birth if the mother was infected)

have you ever gone to the dentist or had surgery before 1995?

and no, not all feel ill when they have become infected- usually it takes about a decade before you notice something isn't right.

as for telling you about their health issue, many people dont feel there is a need to because it isn't really a threat in most cases. after all- i have had hcv since i was 8 years old and no one has gotten it from me. this includes household members.

i do however, think they should of at least put their razors up while you were there. i am very careful when it comes to leaving  my toothbrush and razor out if we have company-especially little children..

    good luck!

  2. It all depends if you cut yourself with the razor. Hepatitis is transmitted through the bloodstream.

  3. no, unless u cut urself with it...

did you? if you did, you might wanna check with your doctor,

but if you didnt cut yourself, then you run no risk, because

no germs got in and you washed your face right after, so

    there was no skin absortion

  4. Did you cut yourself?

    If not you are clean!

If you did you still most likely don't have it...

If you cut yourself a lot please get tested.

The odds are in your favor, don't sweat it!

  5. Possible, but very, very unlikely.

  6. Not necessarily. However, I suggest you make a doctors appointment and tell him what you relayed here. He will be able to do a blood test in the near future and in a few months down the road to make sure one way or the other. It is better to be safe then sorry. But chances are you will be fine.

  7. if He or she used it recently and had cut themselves with it and then you used it and cut yourself with it, then yes. but if not no.

  8. It doesn't mean you have it, but you should go and get yourself checked 3 and 6 months after exposure, 3 months to give yourself an idea if you have it, and 6 months to be conclusive.

  9. No, you have nothing to worry about, you can  get hepatitis from your boyfriends mothers razor, but it is highly unlikely you did. From now on I would make sure that you keep all of you items separate from theirs.

My question to you is. did your boy-friend know his parents have hep-c and did not tell you? Or did you know?

Did his parents not think it was important to inform both of you that they had Hep-c before you went to visit? Or were you both aware of their condition?
