If i add to a quote, does it become mine?

There is a quote about a true friend, and i added a line, at the end. what name do i put at the bottom. only the last line is mine, and the rest is the previous quoter. but tecnically they didn't write it, but neither did i. what do i put.

  2. put both names, i recently did this and i put the name of the original poem, the persons name, and then i put that  added a few lines

    this is what it should look like

    ---------........---------(original writers name) ~~~~~~~~~??????~~~~~~``your name

    do not do it like this

    ---------........-----~~~~~~?????~~~~~...

    (original writers name) and (your name) because then people will think you wrote it together.
