  1. No it does not. You would need to apply to immigrate just like everyone else does. If you have family in Canada they may be able to sponsor you. If you have a job that is high in demand you may be able to find an employer that will hire you, or if you meet the requirements for Skilled Worker, you may be able to immigrate here on your own. I suggest checking out the CIC website to see if there is a route that you could immigrate via.

    Good luck!

  2. Canada was a British colony many many years ago, but the monarchy gave Canada its independence (albeit under the commonwealth) and it has been operating that way almost since we were founded in 1867, although we only truly had our Canadian charter of rights and freedoms as of 1982.

We do still respect and honour our heritage however, and anyone part of the present British Commonwealth is allowed into Canada without requiring a tourist visa.

You do still need a passport, and you are only allowed temporary residence for up to six months, after which you must return home.

To become a Canadian citizen, you normally must apply for permanent residence here, then apply for Canadian citizenship after you arrive here.

  3. interesting...im canadian...so i wonder if it works both ways...although, im 99% sure that it doesnt work like that...

    It'd be neat though :)

  4. LOL  NO

  5. No. We as Canadians need a passport to travel to Britain. The only ties Canada has with Britain is that the Queen still remains the head of state.  Thats like saying you would automatically be a citizen of Australia as they also have the queen representing there head of state.

  6. i seriously doubt it, canada wouldn't give citizenship away so easily and neither would britain.

  7. no Canadian citizen ship is not automatic because you are a British citizen.  You will have to apply for citizen ship once you have been over here for a while, not sure what the laws are but if you get a hold of the Canadian Embassy in Britain they can get you headed in the right direction to find out these things.

  8. No. You have to apply to immigrate like anyone else.

  9. no, it doesnt. maybe u think that because canada was a former colony of britain but im sure they changed it.
