yes, my doughter is a minor an want's to visit her uncle in newyork , she is a citzen but only has her birth certificate and her school id and i wan't to know if she needs a passport to go by plain form michigan to new york?

No, You don't need a passport to go from state to state. But if you're underage and your parents don't know you're going, it would be a very bad idea to leave without telling a trustworthy adult first.

No, she doesnt need a passport.  She needs a government issued state ID.  A lot cheaper than a passport.  You will have to go to your local DMV

Hello. I am a Vacation Expert Professional and I always discover these things. The answer to this is NO. The reason for this is because you are still in the United States. Unless your daughter leaves the United States, she will need a passport, which you can sign her up for one at a post office that offers that type of service. Michigan to New York will be fine without a passport. She will need a valid picture i.d. which a birth certificate will have. Any updated pictures you have of your daughter is needed. The Airport just needs information that your daughter lives in America and not an illeagle immigrant or something. When she is with a legal parent, she will be fine because hopefully the parents name is on her birth certificate.
