If i am a resident and i want to go to Mexico by land do i need a passport besidess my greencard?

I want to go but i have heard that you need a passport for residents too or just for the US Citizens. I need to know if i need any other kinds of documents so i am able to get them before i leave next month

  1. no if you have a green card you cant get a u.s. passport


  2. A passport is required for all people who are non mexicans who wants to cross the border from another country into México.

  3. Passports are not needed by U.S. citizens or green card holders to travel to and from Mexico by LAND or SEA until after SUMMER 2008.  See website below and read top half of the page carefully for the current info.  If you FLY to Mexico, you must have a passport.  As a green card holder, you cannot get a U.S. passport, so you must use your passport from your home country .  For now, if you travel by land or sea, you need your green card and a photo I.D.
