  1. Yes, you need your American passport. Otherwise you have no proof of your citizenship.

  2. I think you need a passport for proof of American citizenship

  3. NO

  4. No...passports are NOT needed for LAND travel to and from Mexico.  If BOTH parents are not going, you must have a letter of permission to take the kids out of the U.S., from the other parent...signed and notarized.  See site below and read section on MINORS under Entry Requirements. Adults need a photo I.D. and proof of citizenship, either a passport or a birth certificate. Kids need their birth certificates.  there is a GREAT deal of misinformation being given on thei by people who have NOT read the 2nd site below...so be sure to read it.

  5. I agree with the 'don't need them yet' crowd

..... and that bus better be paid for, in your name and insured.  Insurance may be expensive depending on size

  6. You have until 1 January 2009

I just went to Tijunana a few weeks ago and I don't have a passport. Bring a photo id.

  7. yes you do

  8. NO - at least not yet.  If entering by land or sea you need a government-issued photo ID like a drivers license for you or a state photo ID for a child.  Also a CERTIFIED copy of each person's birth certificate.  A passport will also work so you might just want to go ahead and get them. (?)

If you fly in & out then you must have a passport.  Tentatively everyone will need passports beginning June 2009.
