I am 37 weeks + 1 day.

I am 1 cm dilated and 50 % effaced also the ob said the babies head was right there and VERY low. I was not surprised by any of this because for the past week i have had the most intense pressure down there and on my bum. The pressure is so bad i feels like i need to p**p all the time and it hurts to walk and move. With all this said i still have not felt any contractions, i have had aching in my back but no 'pains' in my stomach. I know no one can tell me when i will have the baby but maybe someone has a similar story that baby was just around the corner.. the pressure is so uncomfortable i couldn't see myself able to cope much longer!!!

  1. I am 39 weeks and for the past two weeks I have been 1cm and 50% also.  They said the baby was way down low and they touched his head when they measured the dialation. I can hearldy walk and sometimes when I go to the bathroom I'm afraid he is goign to come out. LOL so I know how you are feeling!

2 different doctors have told me that all of that doesnt mean anything except its all normal. He could still come a week early or a week late there is no way of knowing.

To help with the pressure try changing postions often and if you can get one of those excercise balls to sit on. Try to relax.

    Good luck and congrats!

  2. It may be a very close corner. I only had back pain until an hour before delivery. Walk it out and keep your Doc# on speed dial.

  3. with my last two they sat very low and gave me pressure like that and the ache in the back could be contractions you do not need your belly to feel them. with my first i felt it all in my legs. it sucked. it most likely means that when you do go into full labor it will be in your crotch area that is what happen with my last two. oh and yes you can have contractions and not feel them yes that is why you are dialating.

  4. The aching in your back could easily be contractions - if those aching tend to get intense then fade a bit, then get intense - then get your watch out and start counting.

You are quite right though until you are in active labour the contractions are not as intense as active labour and might just feel a bit like braxton contractions and be random.

Out of interest your Uterus will have been contracting since it started expanding - your just not aware of it or aware of it as braxtons.

Good luck and please try and hang in there - take it easy and get plenty of rests now.

    Best wishes.

  5. You are close very close to labor!! Good Luck
