If i am driving from san antonio to mexico, will my birth certificate suffice for crossing in and out of US?

until june first 2009, a birth certificate and a driver's license will suffice.  After June 1st 2009, you will need a passport. Don't take a copy of the birth certificate.  Sometimes they check with their thumb to make sure there is an embossed seal stamped on it.
