i got a letter the other day from my homeroom advisor at my high school. from now on at my school if a student is getting a D+ or below in a class the teacher of that specific class contacts the students homeroom advisor and that teacher then contacts the child and the parents. and if you are having trouble in a class you should go to your homeroom advisor and ask them for help. now i may only be 15 but I'm smart enough to know that this system will never work. if I'm having trouble in History why the h**l would i go talk to my Science teacher about it. and why would my parents want to talk to my science teacher about the areas i am struggling say for example in Math. wouldn't they want to talk to my Math teacher and develop a plan to get me the help i need in the specific area? in the letter it states "This program is advantageous for you and your child." honestly can someone explain to me what good it does? because in my personal opinion it just gives the teachers less contact with parents and students and pretty much cuts them off from doing their job.

  1. You are right!  It is easier for teachers not to have to deal directly with the problem.

  2. Not all teachers may be available to give help. There may be groups of students who receive help from specific teachers in the same subject. Sometimes a different teaching technique may be better for you./
