  1. If you need a GED you can get it in better ways than a home-school program.  See your local library or Adult Literacy Center about getting access to online GED courses.  A GED is functionally the same as a high-school diploma, but GED preparation takes a very different form than getting a diploma, so get training that is oriented to the GED.  Your local library should have test books you can check out to take practice exams.  There is also a database that is online called learning library express.  It will have training material and practice exams online for you to use, but it is not open to public access without a library card number.  The GED isn't hard, but getting to do a practice test will tell you what to expect, and if you need help in specific areas can pinpoint what areas those are.

P.S.  An area bookstore will definately have access to training workbooks made especially for the GED.  I've used these with adults before, and some of them are excellent, and you can use them on your own at home since the book explains everything.

  2. I'd imagine it is extremely unlikely as you are over 18.

There are heaps of programmes available through private schools (such as Penn Foster) which would enable you to gain some qualifications though; assuming, of course, that you're in a position to pay their school fees.

  3. Call ICS (International Correspondence School) they have their home study program by mail.  Search internet for their address.

  4. In our area there is a very active adult learning center. They seem to have an excellent program with free access to Rosetta Stone Spanish and other currculum to help you get a GED if you need it. I bet if our small town can have one of these, yours will too.

  5. You might be able to take a high school course on-line or through correspondence. You can try that maybe through Penn-Foster or some thing. Just a wild guess but look into it.
