If i am spraying kilz primer on raw dry wall do i need to back roll ?

You primer drywall with drywall primer you can buy it in a 5gallon bucket & they recommend to roll it on since it is alot thicker than normall primer.

Are you doing this with cans? or an airless, using a siphon method?

   I can't imagine using spray cans to do any large area?

   The rationale to back roll, might only be that you apply too much in a concentrated area. Certainly without knowing at all, the reasons,,, the can will clearly state instructions. Beyond that a roller nap, especially a dry one, will actually pull paint off the surface, at least until the nap is soaked. Why not just get Kilz in gallons and roll it on?
