If i am studing in aukland can i survive with my wife on my personal income?

  1. I am assuming that the NZ system is similar to Australia's. Try asking in the New Zealand section to confirm these things. I am assuming that you are based somewhere outside of New Zealand. If you are a New Zealand national, then some of this still applies, but obviously the visa rules will be irrelevant.

    It really depends on what your source of income is. If you are receiving a scholarship from the government or the university, then the payments will not be very generous, but they might just be enough for you and your wife to survive on. If you are planning on working part time while you study, then check the details of your student visa to find out what work you are permitted to do.

    Finally, if you are independently wealthy, and planning to bring the money to support yourself from overseas, then you will be welcome to do so. However you might need to check in your home country as to whether or not there are rules about you taking a lot of money overseas.
