i am currently 15 and something has opened my eys and suddendly woke up my creativity and im really hoping to catch up on all the years that could have made me a better artist...is it too late? im really loving it and its cleared my mind and as when i was 6 i really want to do this for a living but maybe its too late to become really good

  1. There isn't exactly a way to catch up in years lost, but u can still get better w/ ur art work no matter how long it's been since u've last drawn. U still have many years ahead of u to become a great artist so u start practicing now, u'll just get better, possible better than u would have if u kept up the practice between age 6 and 15 ;) There's plenty of jobs out there that require an artist (cartooning, comics, movies, anime ;) , designing clothes, etc)

U may not become a famous artist until ur long gone, but that doesn't matter. Art is from the soul and it's very fun to do :)

    Don't let any1 discourage u from what u love to do ;)

  2. not saying you cant make a name for yourself but most artists dont become recognized untill they are long dead and buried

  3. There is a famous painter called Grandma Moses. She did not touch a paintbrush until she was retired and in her seventies, but she went on to become one of the most famous American painters of the 20th century and made a fortune in her lifetime.

15 too late? That's simply ridiculous. Though many people start practicing before that point, most people don't get to really study art until they are 18 and old enough to go to art college. You're early! And you're at an ideal time to begin learning to draw. You're at the right age to begin understanding the concepts and techniques behind art, and the fact that you haven't built up a bunch of bad drawing habits will even be an advantage.

Here's a tip from a 27-year-old artist who did not begin to take drawing seriously as a career until he was much older than you. Learning to draw is not just about practice (which is why it doesn't matter much if you haven't practiced until this point, so long as you start doing it now). If you really want to be good at it, you need to study drawing. Buy books on drawing and go to life drawing classes if you can (or, like most people, wait until you are old enough to go to art college). If you don't have the resources to do this, here's a fantastic place to start for beginning artists: http://www.drawspace.com/ (There are also many other websites with great drawing tutorials if you search Google for them, and videos on Youtube, too).

    Good luck. :)

  4. You definitely can, just keep the determination and keep drawing

  5. Yes, u can try.. don't give up ur interests in drawing.

all the best to u :]
