  1. They will want to know your full school and work history so a list of where you've worked and went to school will need to be provided.  I wouldn't know how much of a check they do on this though.  You will also need to provide names and addresses (if known) of all of your close family members and their partners.  This includes your mother, father, brothers and sisters and their respective partners and any other details of relatives that are requested.  They will all be background checked if deemed relevant to do so.  Be honest about this as you will be rejected if you withhold information.  Convictions of relatives shouldn't be a barrier for your employment so don't worry about this.

The training varies from force to force and changes all the time so I can't accurately advise on this but there will be a lot of class room based law input and practical scenarios where you can practice applying the legislation.  There's also training for defensive and control and restraint techniques.

    Good luck with the application.

  2. They look at everything you can think of. You even have to take a lie detector test. One question was " do you, or have you ever thought of an_l s*x?" I guess it also depends on the state/city in which you are applying. Good luck

  3. A friend has applyed for the police.

He's had to do 20months training/interviews and stuff like that.

I think they do look into your records also.

  4. If you are thinking about join the force then be prepared for alot of questions lol. I don't think at all they will look at you're school background. But they will look into any police contact right down to a speeding ticket from 10 years ago. The training is like 6months academy where they cover like para military type stuff alot of in your face yelling and stupid stuff like that. But in that 6months you need to lear alot about the law's system, so its alot of in the books and taking tests just like high school. In the academy you make around 35gs and once you get out and off of probation you get bumped up to around 45 depending on the department. There bigger the better if you are looking at the money side. Well I hope this helped you out and covered ever thing you needed to know. Good luck
