  1. a taxi is the easiest because you wouldnt have to wait long and you wouldnt have to endure the multiple stops a bus take.

  2. taxis are expensive and rip offs in Italy.

There is a bus just outside of the airport it will cost about 4 euros and it takes you to the train station.(the last stop) Just to make sure you go on the right bus.. Ask the info desk in the airport. the airport is small so you cant miss it.

    Buon viaggo

  3. If you're arriving in Florence from an international destination, you're probably going to be coming into the Galileo Galilei airport, which is nearer Pisa. You can take a direct train into the center of Florence from the airport -- it's about 80km, and the ticket will cost you 5 Euros (about USD$6.70) You'll arrive at the Santa Maria Novella station in the northwest corner of central Florence -- this is the city's main train station, and presumably the one you're staying near.

If, however, you happen to be arriving at the Aeroporto de Firenze (commonly referred to as Aeroporto Amerigo Vespucci or simply Peretola), things are a little simpler. This airport is only 4km from the center of Florence, meaning you can take a taxi if you want, and the journey should only take about 15 minutes. For a cheaper option, ATAF runs the "Volainbus" shuttle between the airport and the city center -- it'll cost you 4.5 Euros (about USD$6.)

Good luck -- and have a wonderful trip!

  4. If you're with another person, take a taxi, about 15 euros.  We thought we were going to save by taking the bus the last time we went to the airport and it cost us about the same amount for two people on the bus.  If you are by yourself you will save money, but have to carry your bags to the hotel.  The bus station is near the train station.

  5. easy-hop on the bus-quick ride to train station (be sure to get your ticket before entering the bus). cost is nominal bus fare

  6. Carmen; from Airport Vespucci to the center of Florence is about 13 kilometers you be better taking a taxi once you know you way around Florence you can take the Bus or you can walk any  where --Florence is a real safety City and the  -people are the nicest you will ever  want to meet -please go have lunch at Santa Maria Novella Train Station Buona Fortuna
