  1. £ 44  or £ 50 if was a handicap with 12+ runners or any race with 5,6 or 7 runners.

  2. the place payout would usually be from 4 to 6 dollars on a 2 dollar bet. so you should break even most of the time to making up to making 20 lbs more than what you put out.

  3. erm i think 6x20 plus the 20 you bet which would come to 140 i think but hey im a girl!!x

  4. A quater of the odds - £5 plus your £20.

  5. Not sure, but good luck anyway.

  6. if it is quarter the odds it will be £50 and for a fifth the odds itll be around £45

  7. You will get £45 back so if you put on £20 you are winning £25 ......is it worth the £20 stake...

  8. £160 that is with your stake back.

  9. £50 if 1/4 of the odds, £44 if a 1/5th!

Unless there were less than 5 runners, then you get nothin!!

  10. Ignore all the rubbish.

GC4 and Half Empty are the only two who know what they're talking about.

£20 EW @ 6/1 with 1/4 odds ( 6 or 7 runners first two or handicaps 12 runners or more first 3, handicaps 16 runners or more first 4 ) return would be £50.

£20 EW @ 6/1 with 1/5 odds ( all stakes races no matter how many runners, handicaps 8 to 11 runners ) return would be £44.

    Good luck

    Rob

  11. For the place quarter of your stake times the odds plus your stake as long as enough horses ran for an each way bet to be laid so you pick up i think £25.00 but in some races they pay a fifth of the odds so you pick £22.00 .Your stake is £10 for the win and £10 for the place . As your horse did not win you loose that stake .PS iwould agree with half mt if your stake was £40 (£20 win £20 place)

  12. I can't believe how many wrong answers have been posted. Only GC4 has got it right, some of the others seem to think your horse won judging by their answers.

If the bookie has paid 1/4 of the odds then you get £50 back (including £20 place part of your bet, the £20 win part lost).

    This is worked out by 20 x 1.5 (1/4 of 6) = 30 then add your original 20 on.

The other possibilty is if the odds were 1/5 for the place. In this case you would get £44 back.

  13. 6 x £20 plus 1.5 x £20 plus £20 I think!

  14. $120 for the place bet only.~~
