  1. According to the below website the average salary for an RN is $68,000 a year.

Go to the link below put in registered Nurse and your location to get a better idea.  I did it without a specified location.

  2. In your dreams! Not unless your a specialized nurse, like a nurse anesthesiologist or a nurse practitioner, will you start out that high. I think you need to lower your expectations to about $50K.

My friend is a nurse practitioner and she only started making that kind of money about 5 years into her career. She is over 100K now, but she has been working since 1998.

  3. Not likely.  You certainly have the potential to make that much after a few years, especially if you enter a specialty such as pediatrics or critical care.  Another option is going back to school for an advanced certification such as Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Anesthetist.  I do know experienced nurses who earn over $100,000 per year, but they work hard at it.

  4. depends on your ciy, state and the setting example like a hospital

    etc

    www.salary.com

great site, you may want to save it.

it will give you a salary range and it is so helpful

when you are neq, for your salary to know what you are worth

    in the workplace

also has alot of other cool things, like if you move or thinking of it

it shows you how much you need to earn in that new city for your cost of living etc.

    good luck

  5. $80,000 as a starting salary for a new RN is really quite a stretch.  It may depend on where you are located, but I highly doubt you'll see that as a new RN.   $80,000 is totally realistic for an experienced RN to make and it depends on the field you go into.  As a RN with a master's degree in nursing, you should be seeing those figures without any difficulty.

But, more realistically, you will see $50,000 as a brand new nurse and possibly up into the high 60s.

  6. Not a chance...

You have to work for many years to reach those starry heights... not to mention get extra training and specialisations, and be in charge of a number of people...

Starting salary (based on a 40 hour working week) would be around $40,000, so it's a good wage, but you would have to pay for your training and education to get there...

Even after 20 years, you'll get about $60,000 only... so you'd have to work hard to get extra qualifications beyond registered nurse to earn more than this.
