  1. you dont become vegetarian for the sake of it.

you eat what you want to eat.

if you become vegetarian because you dont like animals getting killed then dont eat dead animals. if you become one because you dont want to eat anything to do with animals then dont eat anything to do with animals

  2. That depends on how strict you want to be. Just getting off meat is a start. You still need protein though. You can get it with other sources besides meat. There is powdered protein from plants that you can buy at health food stores. I was a vegetarian for  2 1/2 years and still ate some dairy. Cheese was hard to give up. Eggs even harder to give up. I think the morality of it was if it has a face I can't eat it. Products that come from animals is probibly ok to eat. I know vegetarians that completely avoid food that comes from animals and are ok health wise. What ever you decide is up to you, of coarse. But just a reminder in case you don't know, You will smell better when you become a vegetarian. You will have less body odor.

  3. The American Dietetic Association has said that "appropriately planned vegetarian diets are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases." However, poorly planned vegan diets can be deficient in nutrients such as vitamin B12, vitamin D, calcium, iodine and omega-3 fatty acids. These deficiencies have potentially serious consequences, including anemia, rickets and cretinism in children, and osteomalacia and hypothyroidism in adults.

Deficiencies in Vitamin B12, a bacterial product that cannot be reliably found in plant foods, can have serious health consequences, including anemia and neurodegenerative disease. Although clinical B12 deficiency is rare in vegans, if a person has not eaten more than the daily needed amount of B12 over a long period before becoming a vegan then they may not have built up any significant store of the vitamin. In a 2002 laboratory study, more of the strict vegan participants' B12 and iron levels were compromised than those of lacto- or lacto-ovo-vegetarian participants.

The Vegan Society and Vegan Outreach, and others, recommend that vegans either consistently eat foods fortified with B12 or take a B12 supplement. Tempeh, seaweed, spirulina, organic produce, soil on unwashed vegetables, and intestinal bacteria have not been shown to be reliable sources of B12 for the dietary needs of vegans.

  4. you can eat dairy when you are a vegetarian like milk and cheese. if you are vegan you cannot eat anything that ever had anything to do with an animal. NO CHEESE, NO MILK, NO EGGS, NO CHOCOLATE (it has milk) so yeah vegan sucks!!!

  5. a vegetarian is a person with a strict diet with no meat.....so you can eat anything that has no meat.

  6. with a vegetarian you just cant eat met but being a vegan u cant eat anything that comes from animals like dary

  7. yes you can eat dairy products if you are vegetarian, vegans on the other hand don't eat any animal byproducts ( like milk, eggs, cheese, etc )

  8. There are many different types of vegetarians. A basic vegetarin is someone that doesn't eat meat. A vegan is someone that doesn't eat meat or have any dairy products.

  9. A vegetarian can eat dairy products, cheese, etc.  A vegan eats nothing from an animal.  No dairy, eggs, fat, juices.

  10. Vegetarians don't eat meat.Vegans, like myself, don't eat anything from animals. So no milk, cheese etc and food with that stuff in.

I miss bournville chocolate the most haha

Best answer for a chocolate question before, and it didn't help.

  11. I was a vegetarian for about 8 months. I watched the video "Meet Your Meat" on Youtube. I was completely disgusted with how the animals were treated and couldn't eat the meat. I could however eat dairy products. Vegans don't eat meat of any form, nor do they ingest any sort of animal products, ie: milk, cheese, eggs, anything that has milk or eggs in it, no oil products, grease products, etc. Being a vegan is VERY hard! There's really nothing you can eat except tofu and vegetables. I wasn't able to cut it as a vegetarian because I wasn't getting any protein. Soy and tofu are horrible! The only protein I got was nuts and peanut butter. And that is so high in fat! Not a good thing. I did lose about 8 pounds in those 8 months. I never knew how fattening meat is.

  12. vegetarians dont eat meat

vegans dont eat any animal byproducts at all, so meat, cheese, eggs etc

  13. vegetarian - no meat but you can have cheese, milk, etc

vegan - no meat or cheese, milk, ect. just veggies and nuts and stuff like that

  14. There are different types of vegetarians.  Some avoid all animal products (vegans), while others include dairy and/or eggs and/or fish.  It really depends on the person's reason for being a vegetarian.  For some people, it is because they love animals.  Others do it for health benefits or for religious reasons.

  15. Well, you can be a few different things.  I have listed a few with some additional info via website.

Vegetarian - Veggies and dairy if you choose

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegetarian

Pescetarian - Veggies and still eat fish

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pescetarian...

Vegan - Only veggies, nuts, etc.  NO animal product whatsoever

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegan

  16. Milk never had a face, eggs(which are infertile) never had a face. So you can eat it. Vegans won't eat anything that comes from something with a face even if it doesn't mean killing the animal.

  17. you are vegetarian if you don't eat meat. vegan in you don't eat dairy/animal products, you are vegan

  18. First thing, thank you for thinking about becoming a vegetarian! And if you want to become a vegetarian, you can still consume dairy products such as milk, cheese, etc. Vegans are the ones who don't consume anything from animals. Meat or dairy. :)

  19. Strict vegetarians do not eat eggs, dairy or anything that comes from an animal.

Lacto-veg. eats dairy and ovo-veg. eats eggs.

Vegetarians never eat any animals or by-products of their slaughter.

Cows, pigs, chickens, fish, shrimp, clams, worms and ants are all animals.

    =====================

Vegan people are strict vegetarians that also try to avoid all animal products even outside of their diet as far as possible and practical.

Here are a few examples of choices that vegan people make outside of diet

-Avoid use or purchase of leather, wool clothing

-Never buy an animal from a store or breeder but may adopt homeless animals from a shelter or rescue.

-Withdraw support from circuses, rodeos and many zoos

The main idea is that animals are not property that are here as a means to our ends such as clothing or entertainment.

  20. Well there are 4 types of vegetarians.

*Ovo-vegetarians don't eat any meat, dairy, or gelatin but will eat eggs.

*Also there are Lacto-vegetarians who don't eat any meat, eggs, or gelatin but will eat dairy.

*Then there are lacto-ovo vegetarians who are able to eat anything except meat, and gelatin.

*Then of course there are veg@ns who don't use any animal products what so ever.

  21. yeh u can be a vegetarian if u dont eat eggs and other meats but u can drink and eat dairy stuff. To be a vegan u only can eat and drink stuff that only come from plants.

  22. Vegitarian: No meat!

Vegan: no meat of anything that comes from animals (dairy, eggs, etc.)

  23. Dont kill any plants dude. They take CO2 out of the air and turn it into oxygen. So dont speed up global warming

  24. I am vegetarian and i eat dairy, i think all vegetarians do. vegan is when u dont eat meat, fish, eggs or dairy. vegans do not eat anything that comes from animals and vegetarians just dont eat meat.

  25. dont eat meat

  26. A vegan eats no animal products whatsoever.  Vegetarians do not eat meat but some will eat fish and/or eggs and/or dairy.

  27. You know what I dont get, is why vegetarians dont believe in eating meat. God put animals out there, I believe, for us to survive on. People 1000 of years ago didnt have the technology to make meatless products like tofu. I view it as everything is here for a reason. Why would God give us the technology to make hunting rifles, or fishing poles if he didnt want animals or fish to die. I also view it as God feeding his siblings. We know he cant physically feed us so he puts it out there for us to feed on. I know not all of you believe in God, but I do, and those are my views.

  28. Types of vegetarians

    - ovo vegetarian - eat eggs

    - lacto vegetarian - eat dairy

    - lacto-ovo vegetarian - eat dairy and eggs

    - Strict vegetarian - dosn't eat anything that comes from animals.

    - Vegans are the strictest of the bunch. They don't eat or use any animal products so: dairy, eggs, honey, leather, fur, silk,  and wool are off limits. Some will carry a roach outside instead of killing it <- I'm not kidding here.

  29. Vegetarians eat all non-meat products. Vegans don't eat ANY animal products: no milk, cheese, yogurts, eggs, etc.
