  1. If you're a resident of Canada for tax purposes, yes, it will be included in Medicare. You may have to pay some lab fees (for x-rays, for example), particularly if you go to private clinic. You also may have to pay extra if you want a water-resistant cast.

If you're not a resident of Canada, normally not free  but depending on your insurance you may be covered.

It has NOTHING to do with "being Canadian". I am Canadian, but not a resident. I don't pay taxes and I don't get any benefits.

  2. If you're Canadian.  Tourists/visitors would pay a nominal fee.

  3. If you are a Canadian in your home province that you have been living in for the past six months then yes.  For all other Canadians the answer is maybe.  Forieners no way unless some politician takes pity on you.

  4. Nothing is "free".  Although you may not have to pay at the time of getting your arm set, you have paid through either your taxes or through a health care premium.

After your cast is off, you may have to pay a small fee to have physio.  Most of it is covered by the provincial health plan, but sometimes if they physiotherapist asks you to get a resistance band etc to work on at home, that will not be covered.

Also, if you break your arm and need to get an ambulance to take you to the hospital, the ambulance ride is not covered.  Most of it is, but there is a small amount which is not covered by provincial plans.

Tourists or those who not have health coverage will have to pay or be billed.  (either pay out of pocket or submit bill to their insurance)

I wouldnt recommend breaking your arm though...hurts a LOT to have it reset if it needs to be.

  5. Are you Canadian?  If so, yes.

If you're not Canadian, you will be expected to pay unless you have travel insurance coverage.
