  1. There are no guarantees. They could take after mom, after dad, or any combination of both. You can not predict how a mixed breed will turn out in temperament, appearance, or size.

Please reconsider breeding. There are enough irresponsible backyard breeders and puppy millers out there. There's no need for more. You don't have any good reason to breed your dogs. Not every dog is meant to be bred. Most are wonderful pets. Please just fix both your dogs and enjoy them for the pets that they are.

Unless you're willing to put forth the time, effort, and money into breeding purebreds responsibly, why should you breed? What are you trying to improve? Are you just breeding your two pets for some cute, little puppies? If you want a small puppy, go to your local shelter and pick one out.

  2. You don't sound like an experienced breeder.

Please educate yourself first. Have your dogs been tested for genetic disorders? Have they had hip x-rays? Do you know how to care for a pregnant b*tch?

Reconsider your choice to breed. Breeding dogs to produce "cute" puppies rather than healthy pups with sound temperament, is morally wrong.

Also, there's no such thing as a castrated female dog. Castration is the removal of the testicles.

  3. most likely girl because a puppy is usually like its mother

  4. There is no way to predict the size of the puppies.  They could even end up larger than your female.  It depends on the lineage behind both dogs.

  5. So you're purposely breeding mutts during your dog's first heat?  You'll get DEAD PUPPIES.  They'll all end up killed at a shelter.

  6. The size of your dog does depend on the size of the mother and father of the puppy's so, for you the puppies should turn out quite small, not very small as the mother (I think you said) is medium size. So, I hope this helped! x

  7. Breeding is a LOT of responsibility and work.  Please do not even consider breeding your puppies unless you have the time and money to invest into the pregnancy and puppies, and can ensure that all the puppies will have a good home to go to.

As for the size, the puppies could be as small as the small dog or as big as the medium size.  With mixes, you cant be sure what traits the puppies will inherit.
