  1. They won't be purebred long or short hairs but they'll still be pure breed dachsunds.... and more then likely the pups will have either long or short hair and not a combo, so it won't even be an obvious thing.

  2. If you have to ask such questions as these, you shouldn't be breeding, PERIOD!

Any qualified, reputable breeder would know the answers to those.  You are not, and I highly suggest you spay and/or neuter.

Reputable and experienced/qualified breeders breed dogs to improve the breed standard in eyes, heart, hips and genetics..... NOT just to be breeding dogs.  There are just too many dogs living in shelters on cold cement floors.  Take a look the next  time you have a chance.  It will break your heart.

  3. it's like breeding a chocolate lab with a yellow lab.  they are still labs.

but again you should only be breeding show quality with show quality dogs to improve breed.

enough pet quality are in the show quality litters to sell to people for pets.

  4. If you need to ask this question here it is a sign that you don't know anywhere near enough to be breeding.

Please go do some serious research on responsible breeding.

  5. ya they would still be purebred just some will be long haird nd some will be short haird

  6. Yes but I'll be damned if I bought one from you. You clearly don't know anything about breeding or Dachshund genetics let alone how to spell the breed name right.

Secondly you are breeding pet quality animals. You want to get into breeding find a breed mentor to learn from.

You should only be breeding show quality animals who has had their various testing done and who come from titled and papered champions themselves. You can't determine yourself if the dog fits the breed standard to a T they need to go into the show ring

Leave the breeding to those who have taken years and dedicated themselves to this breed and get your pets fixed

  7. no. there are too many pups and dogs euthanized every year for me to be interested in taking someone elses pups. even free, i wouldn't take one.

  8. no, no one here is interested in purchasing the pups of pet quality dogs.  Do the world a favor and spay/neuter your dogs.  btw you are a backyard greeder congrats!

  9. you should not breed anything if your not experienced with it..but if your going to do it anyway please do as much research as possible..but i still think its best if you don't do it, there are so many animals in shelters waiting for new homes why make more when there is not enough homes for the ones already in this world!!

  10. I would not be interested at all.  If you had any idea as to what responsible breeders go through to keep them from cross breeding & ruining the breed you would not be asking this question.  There is a deliberate difference between the short hair & the long hair.  Special breeding, selective breeding, taking in consideration the genetics of both male & female to get the separate qualities.

Now you want to s***w up the breed by crossing them.  The pups would be considered a X between the two.  I don't know that they would be considered Mutts but they are definitely cross breeds & that is what a mutt is.

Spay & neuter your pets.  Don't add the the over population of dogs that die by the thousands each & every day.

It is clear by you posing this question that you aren't any where near knowledgeable enough to be breeding.  You have not done your research.  Nor do you have dogs that are worthy of breeding.
