  1. you probably will man, everyone needs a license to launch boats i think

  2. no

  3. YES. Every waterway in the UK has a regulator who requires you to have a licence. Even in 1911!!

  4. to run on inland waterways you need to have a licence, to launch from the slip you need to  pay duty, to use in tidal waters you do not require a safety cetificate , but harbour masters will not let you land unless you have a current one. Also your life insurance could be invalid should the worse happen if you don't  have a current safety certificate, so no un planned amnesic trips to panama ok

  5. Yes there is always a fee and/or a licence involved someone always has control of the slipway and jetty's and water is owned by River Authorities or United Utilities, or private ownership.

Coastal and inland waterways can be free of charge, but often a slipway/ launching fee is payable.

Advice:   Get insurance and life jackets etc

  6. No you dont not on a public slipway, but take care and wear lifejackets

and learn the laws of the sea

  7. I think it maybe free I don't really know

  8. you live in England

get used to being sold down the river, and being up s*it creek without a paddle

  9. your not allowed to lanch it on a river cos youll need a spelling licence  and theres 2 e s in dee

  10. Maybe...Maybe not.

Depends on the policy of the Individual or Governing Body that controls any given boat launch ramp.

If you can just slide the Dory down a River Bank...you're totally free.

Better make some serious enquires...not on yahoo.

  11. Yes. The rivers banks are owned by someone. If not a private owner then try the river authority.

  12. if you reqiure a slipway yes you will have to pay to use it

if you can launch it from the riverside it will cost nothing

if you want to launch on the canals you will require a british waterways licence.

I would think that the RIVER DEE you will be able to find a place to launch it free.

is you use a slipway the cost is only about a £5 in and out

  13. yeah u do called sea taxes haha

  14. Yes you do need a licence. That'll be cheap for an unpowered craft BUT the cost with rise because you need to be insured in order to get a licence.

River Dee ? Try Sandy Lane or Eccleston. No-one will notice.
