If i buy a car in mexico with usa license plate?

does that mean that the car is registered in usa..i have found cars on autotrader.com.mx that are really cheap and have usa license plate. i wanted to buy couple of them and sell them to usa...i live in san diego 10 min away from mexico border

Sounds like a scam.

If the car turns out to be stolen, they are completely out of californian (and USA ) jurisdictions.

How cheap?  ANYBODY can take their used car to a used car dealer and get about 80% of the book value. So why sell it really cheap?
