If i buy a clothes dryer will it make cloth nappies soft?

towls and baby clothes .. my cloth nappies are abit rough from drying on the clothes line so if i buy a dryer will it make them soft again

or is it to late for them?

Yes a dryer will soften your towels and nappies. Make sure that you rinse them thoroughly as excess detergent will also make them stiff, but is not too late.

It is not too late for them.  However, do NOT use fabric softener on the nappies, or it will cut down on absorption.  Actually, they will last longer if you dry them on the line, then just throw them in the dryer for about 5 minutes with a wet washcloth, and they will soften right up.

save the cost of buying a dryer and the fact that your electricity bill will go through the roof, use fabric softener in the final rinse, your cloth nappies and baby clothes will dry soft and the sun is best the best dryer and  it also helps kill germs.

If you do get a dryer, only use it for emergencies for example  wet weather

I wouldn't purchase a dryer, have you tried ironing them.  I know that seems silly, but the heat/steam from the iron should loosen the fibers and make the diapers softer.  Plus, you most likely have an iron already.

what about drying them on a wire horse inside. but a dryer would do the job too

You don't have to buy a dryer to have soft nappies. Instead of using fabric softener which can have petroleum products in them and inhibit the absorbency of the material, use white vinegar in your rinse cycle instead. The linens come off the line soft and fluffy with a nice fresh scent and also retain their absorbency better. It is also very inexpensive to use compared to commercial fabric softener. I use a full Downy ball and throw it into the cycle when I start the washing process. Works like a charm!

get some fabric softener and put it in with your washing detergent while doing the laundry
