If i buy an iphone 3g with no contract and put my regular iphone sim in the 3g will it work?

Unfortunately right now, the only US carrier is AT&T and you have to have AT&T for all of the features to work properly. And ATT is going to be the sole provider of the Apple iPhone until like 2011 or 2012. Hope this helps.

don't think thAt you can buy an iPhone 3G without a contract. Because I have an iPhone 3g and they made me sign a two year contract with AT&T. Also I don't think that the iPhones sim card will work in the iPhone 3G because there are things different about them. But it is always worth a try if you can find a way to get an iPhone 3G without a contract.

You have to buy sign a contract when your in store purchasing your iphone. Thats when they give you the SIM card. Talk to the associate and see what they can do. Im telling you this from what I know.
