If i buy info from a website( for example, phone numbers) can i post it on my site if im not selling it?

I want to buy some info from a site but i dont know if im allowed to post it on my site. Im not going to resell it, it'll just be there for viewing.

Before even considering posting information regardless of whether or not you are charging a viewing fee, check out your state laws governing privacy.  In  California, you cannot publicize (even without charging a fee) anyone's personal information (including telephone numbers) without subjecting yourself to civil suit or even a TRO (temporary restraining order).

Seems like that is the kind of question that would be answered by the people who are selling the info and/or the sales agreement that you make with them.
