the subs are 1000 watts each. would a 1000 watt amp push both of them or do i need a 2000 watt. o and another thing. does the fact that they're shallow mount mean that they aren't going to sound as good. cuz if so, im not going to spend 100 dollars apiece on them.

  1. Instead of spending 100 a piece on the subs that your thinking of, try this comapny out for instance. Elemental Designs, you get a 5 yar warranty with each product. The sub, SQ10 minimum of 250 watts rms needs to go to each sub, or it will sound like c**p, this sub will take 500 watts rms and then some; but not a whole lot more though. Every sub that I have heard from this company pound hard.

I own 2 13Ov.2 D4's, I know people that own the 13Av.2 (they sound better than the W7), and I know people that own the SQ10's and they hit hard. That and the SQ10's are $70, free ground shipping included. Buy them right from the maker, that is why they are so cheap. Great quality (hand made), great customer service, and a 5 year warranty.

  2. no, that means you have 2 100 watt amps. lol, they all sound the same.

  3. no u only need an amp rated for the amount of rms watts  if its a 1000 watt sub the rms is probably around 500 watts  so u will do just fine with a good i.e(rockford fosgate, jl audio) amp rated at 1000 watts

  4. no, shallow mount wont sound bad.

a 1000 watt amp going thru 2000 watts of speaker will be 1000 watts of sound.

1000 watt amo going thru 10000000000000000 watts of speaker is still only 1000 watts.
