  1. Oh, I think they'd be very angry.  Didn't you see Braveheart?  LOL  They have a huge monument to William Wallace and I don't think they'd mind if they became their own country and not part of the UK.  :)

    The Scottish roll their "Rs" more than the others.  Just watch Mike Myers Scottish skits on Saturdy Night Live.  ha ha

  2. British people have 4 different languages/ways of speaking.

    -Scotland people are Scottish.

    -England people are english.

    -Wales people are Welsh.

    -Ireland people are Irish.

    If you tell a scottish person he is english, he might be ok because you are not a english speaker.

    However all people are different.

    I hope this has helped x

  3. I would probably go with British, because the English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish of Northern Ireland all fall into that category.

    If they are Mainland Irish though, you might get thumped. LOL

  4. A Scot will be offended

  5. I am from Scotland originally, and I HATE people calling me English..

    I am amazed at how many people, after being told I am from Scotland originally, then go on to think of me as English..

    British, Brit is fine... but NOT English.. pom etc...

  6. The United Kingdom includes: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.  So technically, a Scottish person is part of the UK and so is British.  But they are NOT English.

  7. calling the Welsh or the Scottish english, won't go down very well. before calling them english, ask them where they are from.

    Scotland = Scottish

    Wales = Wales

    England = english

  8. Well I am from Wales and Idefinitely   wouldnt be angry if somebody asked me if I was English. Although on the other hand I would say straight away where I was was from. If your not sure where somebody is from then  it would be more polite if you just asked them where they were from.

  9. just call him european

  10. Yes we would.  It would be like me calling you Canadian if you were from the USA or vice versa, or even thinking that you were Australian when in actual fact you were a New Zealander.  British is the collective term for Scottish, English and Welsh.

    If you want to ignore my advice go ahead and call a Scotsman English & you'll fihnd out exactly how angry he'll get (LOL)!
