  1. Your old surname would no longer be your name. So yes you would need to change your passport. :-)

  2. yes you will have to apply for a new passport

  3. yes - you have to be known as that new name everywhere or why bother changing it in the first place.

  4. Yes you will, because your name will no longer be legally your old one.  It will be illegal to attempt to travel in your old name.

  5. Yes, you need a new passport. Your name on your passport must match your legal name. You'll have to apply for a new ten year passport at a (current) cost of £72. They'll cancel your old one and credit you up to 9 months extra on the new one depending on how much time you have left on it.

I know this because i've just got married and i'm really cheesed off that i have to pay to amend my passport to my new name when i've still got 7 years on my old one.

  6. I think when you change your name by deedpoll you have to relinquish your old passport. Not hundred percent sure but i think this is the case.

  7. Yes you will need to get a new passport

  8. You'll need to get your passport reissued or you'll have problems at customs with two different names!
