It depends.

At the moment £1 = about 1 euro.

However, it depends where you buy them.  Some places will give you a poorer exchnage rate but won't charge you an admin fee other places will give you a better exchange rate but will charge you an admin fee.  Also, some places will charge more to give them but you but then won't charge to buy them back if you don't use them all so decide what you want and then shop about.

A website like http://www.xe.com/ gives you a good up to date basic exchnage rate.
