  1. Before the days of unleaded fuel, lead in the fuel helped lubricate the valves and running an engine on white gas or LPG tended to wear out the valves.  But now that engines have hard valves made to last a long time on unleaded fuel, that is not an issue.

It is very common for forklift trucks to run on LPG to avoid indoor pollution, and also common for many city vehicles.  It is perfectly safe as long as you do not smell gas from a leak (actually the additive that gives it an odor)

  2. To run on LPG requires harder valves and seats, as numerous taxi firms have found out to their cost. manufactures don't make these available on the market if there isn't a sale for them.

  3. it wont affect it

  4. i looked into having mine done and the enginneer was saying that as long the car is serviced regulary it would last a long time.

he also said the performance wouldnt change much.

the people that carry out the conversions have to be trained and i would of said it was safe otherwise they wouldnt be allowed to carry it out. best stick to garages who specialise in these conversions.
