If i copy a picture off of a website, and paste it somewere else, can they track down were i paste'ed it?

If i copy a picture from a web-site, and then paste it somewere else, can they track me and the picture down, to were i pasted it?

No they can't but that does not make it ok. Unless there is a lot of copying and they are losing money I can't imagine that they would spent the time searching. What are the odds that the creator of the site will go to your page?
