one day i was driving listening to my music when all of a sudden my amp cut off for a few seconds and turned back on, it kept doing that so i disconnected the rca's when i disconected the white rca the quality of the sound came back and the amp did'nt automatically shut off anymore so i figured i had a short on it somewhere so i replaced the rca's and still the same problem what can this be and if anybody knows or has had this problem with their amplifier let me know it is a 1.000 watt rockford fosgate amp, also is there any consequences to using it without the white rca disconnected?

  1. it sounds like there is a short somewhere if your amp keeps shutting off. nothing bad will happen if you disconnect the white rca cable. you just wont get a signal in one sub

  2. sounds like u have a short in ur inputs on ur amp, would be worth having it looked at,might just need a simple fix .

  3. I had the same thing happen with a zapco amp it ended up being my rca wire was bad and the ohems on the amp got messed up for because of that.
