It's not only illegal, but it's not nice for the engine.

The power and performance of a 2 stroke engine will be  reduced drastically without an exhaust.

Running a 4 stroke without an exhaust will burn the exhaust valve.

It's also a little dangerous having open flames blowing out of the exhaust port.

yes it is illegal to remove a device that has to do with pollution/emissions controls on any vehicle,unless it is race only for closed course competition.let alone the fact the it is now illegal just because of the db of the exhaust now.  2 tickets.
