  1. Eat more. Your body will go into starve mode and store your fat if you are not eating enough! That means it will burn your muscles (which are what you want to keep) and keep your fat (which you want to lose)

    Yes, bodies are weird and work annoyingly!


  2. Yes.  The body generally doesn't need any more than 2000 calories a day. Your average person eats more than twice that (sometimes eating that much in one meal!!) but we're not very active.  Michael Phelps consumes 12,000 calories a day yet look at what good shape he's in!  The key is to consume less calories than you are burning in order to lose weight. So it depends on the type of work out you do, I suppose. :)  You may want to keep your caloric intake normal (around 2000) and work with weights, because muscle burns calories just existing, so working out with weights, doing things to increase your muscle mass, will cause you to burn many more calories just doing every day things. However, you will end up gaining weight because muscle weighs more than fat, but you'll look better!

  3. Depends on how vigorous your work out is and how busy you are during the day. Ask a physical trainer, they'll be able to assess your work out.
