  1. No it wouldn't have anything to do with your mom.

  2. No. Unemployment will only affect the person who's wages are reported under their own SS#. No one else.

    As a side note:

Anyone who is considering filing for unemployment must realize a few things.

While filing for unemployment - even if you are granted your benefits - is not entirely a good thing.

Think about it. Sure, getting free money is great. However, anytime someone files for UE they are taking money out of the pocket of their former employer's

    pocket. Who cares, right?

Well, think about that for a second. Let's say your former employer is McDonalds or Burger King.

When you get your UE check, you might want to go get something to eat, right? No problem. Well, herein lies the problem: Let's say you want a Combo Meal

that costs $5.50. No problem. Not that much, right? Well, if thousands of Americans weren't getting unemployment, that same Combo Meal would actually only cost a portion of that (say$3.50.) Why? Because McDonalds/Burger King wouldn't be forced to drive up their costs due to addtional expenses ----- such as unemployment tax.

Employers pay UE tax - employees NEVER pay this out of their paycheck. This is a common myth. No employee has EVER paid UE tax out of their paycheck.

The same goes for car insurance, clothing, food, etc....It's a simple fact.

People wonder why they pay so much for things...and a large portion is due to the fact that many don't see the big picture. While filing for UE or welfare may seem like a good idea, the only thing that people are doing are making their own lives (as well as all of their families and friends lives) more expensive.

Just something to think about. Get a job - it's a lot cheaper for us all. Just think about it - do the math.

    Good luck!
