If i get evicted in the state of ca for not being able to pay me rent what wil happen? ?

  1. They will put it on your credit report and trust me when i say NOBODY in CA will rent to you with that on your record.  If you pay it off, still about 75% of the people will not rent to you unless they charge higher than market rent.


  2. They can take you to court for the eviction and for the amount you owe the landlord.  The chances of you finding another place will be significantly diminished, landlords don't want to rent to people who have been evicted for non-payment of rent.  

  3. Let me put it this way.  If someone owed you money, what would you do?  

  4. I believe it is the same for every state. If you have a signed rental agreement it states the terms and conditions. If you were evicted and still owed rent and/or still had several months left on the contract then they can take you court. Not all do it depends on the amount and how soon they re-rent the unit.

    Also it is reported on your credit report and makes it hard to get another place to rent.
