  1. 2.00 if you are paying cash( must be exact) and a token cost 1.45 for the same ride. You can buy a token at a ticket office or various locales or simply pay the 2.00 when you board.

  2. $1.45 per token, they can be bought in packs of 2, 5 or 10, from vending machines at some locations also at local stores and some main ticket offices (such as 30th Street Septa windows), if you board the bus it has to be $2 at the time of boarding, put the bills/coin in the machine as you board (exact change only).

A transfer if you wish to change buses, travel the EL can be purchased at the time of boarding for $0.75 (just put that in the cash box along with your token or base fare) the driver gives you a transfer paper which you present to the driver on the next bus (or EL window).

Be aware of routes that operate outside of the city limits, they have Zones ($0.50 per zone) usually payable at the end of the journey as you alight (the 14 Frankford to Oxford valley is an example, $2 for the base fare to Neshaminy Mall, when you alight after Neshaminy you will owe $0.50 for the zone, put it in the box as you leave the bus)

Note that no Septa buses give change so make sure you have exact money or can get it.

  3. Check www.septa.org for the fares.  I'd assume you just pay as you get on.  Most buses have a fare box at the front where you drop your money.

  4. SEPTA cost $2.00 by cash, $1.45 by token.

Transfer to SEPTA Subway/Trolley cost $0.75 or other SEPTA buses.
