  1. Don't do it, not ever. That's stupid, insurance agents have people who are paid to tell how an accident happened, and they would catch on to your scam right away.

  2. what you are suggesting is fraud. Who else would pay for it if there was no second party to accept liability? Just tell them you hit a pole, the end result is the same. In either case, you would have to pay your deductible.

  3. I was wondering when a question like this would come up.  An adjuster can tell exactly what happened with your car and what hit it.  Especially a pole.  This is called insurance fraud.  They will do a full investigation and have you come in for an EUO which is  an examination under oath where  they will tell you that their investigation shows otherwise and tell you this is FRAUD.  If that's not bad enough you'll lose your insurance and the insurance company will turn over their investigation to the police.  The police will investigate some more and turn it over to the DA who WILL prosecute you.  Your jury of your peers are all paying for insurance which is high because of fraudulent claims.  They will show no mercy and you will go to prison where your bunk mate is a very large and strong man named BUBBA and he will be your boyfriend for the next  5-10 years.

I don't know, you think it's worth it?.  And yes, this is EXACTLY what will happen.

  4. Depends on your coverage.  If you have collision they would pay out, less your deductible if you tell them the truth.

If you tell them you had a hit and run, and they look at the car and see the damage is more consistent with hitting a pole and you won't be covered at all because of fraudulent claims, which they take very seriously.

If you really didn't plan on doing it, you wouldn't even ask.  Just don't.

  5. Lets see:

    1) Nothing, you get paid.

    2) Dents/Damage doesn't match your story: Investigator determines it was fraud.  Loss of insurance coverage, possible criminal charges.

  6. Can you spell FRAUD???

    I thought you could!
