yes all you need is the simcard from T-mobile if the phone is not unlock but if the phone is unlock you can use other simcard. like att and others prepaid simcard

well if the phone is already activated or used then all u need to do is put your sim card in it. (my friend just did that.) but if its brand new then they will have to activate it. ( u usually cant find a brand new lx at a pawn shop though.)
