If i get the Nikon D40 with the lens kit, what lenses should i get for...?

Question

- shooting concert pictures (sitting far from the stage)

- indoor pictures with family

- landscape pictures (ex. beach/sunset) and

- nighttime pictures (ex.city lights/buildings)??

Remember, i'm on a budget here so the least lenses i can buy to fit all of my criteria s would be the best. I'm very new to this slr system so if someone can also tell me what kind of pics i can take with the lens kit (18-55mm), it would be appreciated. Thanks soo much !!!

You can shoot anything with the kit lens, except you're limited on zoom range. I sold mine and got the 18-200mm VR, instead of keeping it and getting the 55-200. Why have to stop and change lenses? It's worth the $635 I paid for it.

the 18-55mm can shoot all of the four type / scenes above . . . although i wonder that shooting a concert picture (especially a big concert) would be difficult . . . get a flash, and a tripod stand, and you're set to go . . .
